The New Face of America First Conservatism: The Southwest Florida Young Republicans
As the Southwest Florida Young Republicans celebrate our one-year milestone, we are witnessing a bold movement taking root. The Southwest Florida Young Republicans, chartered by President Alyse Fratto, have reached unprecedented heights and milestones some which have never been witnessed before in the political arena before. In just 12 short months, we have garnered half a million views on our social media page, gained nearly 5,000 followers, and brought in tens of thousands of dollars, between revenue, merchandise, and donors. We have established ourselves as giants in the titanic political struggle of winning over Generation Z and the next leaders of America. When we started this club, our mission was simple but very bold: we wanted young conservatives to not wait in the wings; we wanted to be present, and we wanted to be heard. We have accomplished just that. Our foundation is to recruit, train, and elect the next wave of MAGA America First Christian Conservatives—those who believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life; that Christ is King; and who, as proud Americans, will not apologize for our history. That is what it means to be a Young Republican in 2026.
The MAGA Agenda is about Making America Great Again and putting America First. Whether we are putting ourselves first here at home, taking care of our veterans, our homeless, and our seniors, or safeguarding Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, the mission is clear. Initiatives like "no tax on tips" are fundamental because people vote with their pocketbooks, and President Trump is delivering. Take a look at your refunds this tax season; he is delivering. We have not seen leadership like this in so long—a President who is willing to prevent the European Union from ripping us off on the international trade stage. He is sending a strong message that America is back and we are not going to be played for fools. We are the buyers of the world’s goods to the tune of $20 trillion, yet we have been running a massive deficit. We are turning that around, and it is working.
However, prosperity requires vigilance. Let's talk about the facts, because the facts do not care about the narrative coming out of Saint Paul, Minnesota. What we are witnessing as Americans is a collapse of institutional integrity so profound that it borders on the surreal. We are not just talking about accounting errors; we are talking about a systematic looting of the American taxpayer. Under Governor Tim Walz, welfare fraud has not just increased—it has spiraled out of control. The truth has a funny way of seeing the light of day. Since 2021, the Department of Justice has charged 98 defendants, 85 of whom are of Somali descent. While 64 of those 98 have been convicted, the DOJ is going further, having issued 1,750 subpoenas and executed more than 130 search warrants. We are going to continue with American justice and return Americans' money back into their pockets. Now more than ever, everyone is craving the light of truth and accountability. Nick Shirley has done just that in Minnesota and beyond. We are here to talk about nationwide and systemic fraud across the country. Whether it is in Minnesota, California, or Illinois—you name any blue state—we are here to expose the systematic looting of your hard- earned money. We will not stand for it. We are going to take back America and return your money to you. Furthermore, regarding the Ilhan Omar fraud: it is not okay to marry your brother, steal $30 million from American taxpayers and fund Al-Shabaab, a foreign terrorist organization. She is not going to get away with it. Not here in the United States of America. Accountability and justice will be served; Ilhan Omar, your days of fraud are numbered.
We are proud to have co-hosted an event with both former Congressman Madison Cawthorn and Nick Shirley. Madison Cawthorn is one of the youngest individuals ever elected to Congress—a huge deal! He has always stood up and fought for his beliefs. He has not only preached the "Trump Gospel" and the MAGA Agenda, he has acted on it. Similarly, Nick Shirley has made a career out of being America’s preeminent waste, fraud, and abuse fighter. We need more Americans like him who are not afraid to look at the data, who follow the money, and demand that our government works for us—the American people—not illegal aliens and Somali fraudsters.
